Even Rivers Fall – 13 Questions for self-reflective journaling

So many esoteric teachings compare our lives in some form to rivers.

Rivers flow and stagnate,
expand and contract,
flood and run dry,
wind and merge,
and
lead always,
invariably to the ocean…

Rivers also fall.

Rivers drop in small trickles between rocks and they fall in deafening torrents from dizzying heights.
The places where rivers fall become places of gathering, inspiration, destination.

Compare your life to a flowing river.

Where were there unexpected twists and turns?
Were they places of stagnation?
Has your river disappeared underground and emerged later from a hidden spring?
Did your river widen and slow down calmly for a time?
Was there a time when your river merged into another river?
Was there a time when your river diverged from other rivers?
When has your river run dry?
When has it been refreshed by spring rain?
Has your river endured a bleak and frozen season?

Has your river ever fallen?

The beauty of the drop over any precipice is that the river keeps on flowing.

What does your river look like now?

Is there a merging or diverging ahead?

Is your river eager for spring rain or chaotic and swollen from snow melt?

Please comment and share about a meaningful moment in your life’s river.
